〜ていく (te iku)

Used to indicate an action that continues from the present into the future or away from the speaker. It translates to "go and do" or "continue doing".

Example: 持っていく (motte iku) - "take (something) away"

〜てくる (te kuru)

Used to indicate an action that starts from a point in the past and continues up to the present, or an action moving towards the speaker. It translates to "come and do" or "do and come back".

Example: 持ってくる (motte kuru) - "bring (something) here"

〜てしまう (te shimau)

Used to indicate the completion of an action, often with a sense of regret or unintended result. It translates to "do completely" or "end up doing".

Example: 食べてしまう (tabete shimau) - "eat completely" or "end up eating"

〜てみる (te miru)

Used to indicate trying or attempting an action. It translates to "try to" or "attempt to".

Example: 食べてみる (tabete miru) - "try to eat"

〜ておく (te oku)

Used to indicate doing something in preparation for the future. It translates to "do in advance" or "do beforehand".

Example: 読んでおく (yonde oku) - "read in advance"

Used to indicate doing something for someone of lower status or for animals/plants. It translates to "do for" (condescending or familiar tone).
